Strategy & Operations Associate
In the future, almost everything we consume will simply materialise on our doorsteps – what we call “e-commerce” today will simply be “commerce” tomorrow. But if we continue on today’s trajectory, the growth of e-commerce risks damaging the environment, alienating our communities, and straining the bottom-line for small businesses.
Relay’s mission is to enable anyone to materialise any consumer purchase on their doorstep with negligible cost and environmental impact.
We operate a warehouse-to-doorstep delivery network purpose-built to scale to the demands of e-commerce. Our network lets the most important e-commerce retailers in the UK (and one day, the world) deliver faster, more affordably, and with a smaller carbon footprint than any major delivery network in the developed world.
As a rapidly growing, operationally complex company, we’re looking for a handful of high-horsepower generalists to pioneer, codify, and scale our most important processes. In this role, you can expect to…
Work with leaders across the company to design and implement operational processes (e.g. reducing handling time for courier contacts)
Analyse policy changes (updating and creating processes, decreasing our courier contacting rate) and make recommendations to your line manager
Gather and analyse data to build performance reports and support strategic decision making for leaders across the business
Be exposed to a wide variety of challenges across technology, data, operations, and go-to-market.
Collaborate with team members across every function and business area at Relay
Regularly spend time in the field understanding how the processes you develop and the policy recommendations you make impact the on-the-ground reality for our couriers and end-consumers
You might be a great fit for this role if…
You want to play an active part in reducing the environmental impact of a massive industry while giving all people access to the benefits of e-commerce
You are excited to take on a wide range of challenges, learn new skills, and master new domains in business and technology
You are equally at home sweating the details of an operational process or data analysis as you are presenting your conclusions to executives
You’re a problem solver and thrive when given a complex challenge
You are not afraid to get your hands dirty and feel comfortable working in a fast paced environment
Requirements
Have worked in a high-performing organisation for at least 1.5 years
Have strong data and analytical skills, preparing and analysing reports
Able to manage cross functional projects and navigate between different internal and external stakeholders
Nice to have: experience in customer service, live operations or other teams that are first line support
